Sock Monkey Theme Birthday Party~

Two weekends ago, my niece had a Sock Monkey theme party for her son's 1st birthday.  When I first arrived I was in AWE!!!  She had made all the decorations by hand and with the help of the very handy cricut expression!  There was an area for a candy bar, a sock monkey pinata, tutu wreath, banners and of course a sock monkey cake!  She did such an awesome job that I had to share this with all my crafty friends!
So proud of you Kristen! :)
Have a blessed week everyone!

Graduation Letters

I received a request from my co-worker to decorate 4 wood letters for her graduation party this weekend.  I wasn’t sure where to even start because I have never worked with wood letters before.  I found the letters at Michaels for 1.99 and decided to use glitter paint to make the letters really pop!  I made the letters with my handy Cricut machine and used graduation embellishments.  For the diploma, I simply rolled up a piece of paper and did the hat by freehand.  I used a bookmark for the tassel.  Im very happy with the turn out, I think they came out fabulous for a first timer!

Wishing everyone a fantastic week!
Congrats Tamara!

Who Knew? A Spaghetti Jar can look so pretty :)

I created this luminary candle jar from an empty spaghetti jar. First, I cut out the letters using cricut vinyl material (Planting Schoolbook cartridge) and placed letters on jar.  Second, I spray painted the jar and after the jar was fully dried; I started to peel the letters off and embellished it with Jute and a fabric flower.  I placed a tea-light and the word "dream" glows at night.
Have a fabulous weekend!

Welcome to the world sweet baby boy~ ShadowBox

First, I just want to say I love these shadowboxes!  You can create any scrapbook page theme you want and insert it into this box and it gives it a whole new effect.  This shadowbox is 11" x 14" and you can find it at your local craft store.  These boxes also make great gifts for baby showers and weddings, nothing is more special than a handmade gift.  A friend of mine requested this shadowbox to be made for her nephew; in a lion themed scrapbook page.  Hope you use this as an inspiration for your own shadowbox creation.  Have a Blessed Wednesday!

Butterfly Mobile

Live Your Beautiful Life~
I've been wanting to make this project for a long time now, I just could not find the time to create it!  I have to remind myself sometimes that it's important to make time to do things that make you happy.  It is so easy to forget about yourself in the everday shuffle called life.   How do you make time, to do the things that make you happy?  You can easily turn this project into your very own.  You can add your personal touch to your mobile by personalizing it for a nursery by using alphabet letters, pictures or a matching theme from the nursery.  This project can also be made for a teenagers room or for any other occasion.  The possibilities are endless.

Baby Shower- Duck Theme

These are ducky favors and ducky cupcake toppers that I made for my niece's baby shower.  I used the Cricut Cartridge (New Arrival) to make the ducks and bath tubs and added small eyes to the ducks.  For the cupcake toppers, I glued toothpicks on the back.

Wedding favors- candy tins

These are metal tin candy favors I made for my best friend to give to her guests on her wedding day.  I made miniature copies of her engagement photos and used shiny pink cardstock paper and attached maroon colored ribbon.  I remember I was running around like a chicken with its head cut-off!  I had 3 days to make 100 candy tins!  Despite working on a time crunch, they came out looking great; and it gave the guests a personal trinket to take home with them.

Christmas Gift- Mini Poinsettia Plant

Every Christmas holiday, I make little handmade gifts for the special women in my life, the ladies at church and my family and friends.  I found these cute Christmas planters on clearance for about .80 cents each at Michaels.  I wasn’t quite sure what exactly I was going to use them for but I would think of something.  That same week I found these miniature poinsettias at the .99 cents store and those cute ornaments that you see and simply tied a cute ribbon to it.  An inexpensive and super easy gift to make and most importantly everyone loved it!

L is for Love- Styrofoam Letter Magnet

I found these Styrofoam letters on clearance for .50 cents at Michaels, one of my favorite stores! I painted it a fuchsia color and added cute embellishments and added a magnet on the back of it using the hot glue gun. I decided to put it up on my refrigerator door to give it a splash of color!

Potpourri Bird Cage

I love shopping at Pier One Imports they have fabulous stuff!  I found a lovely wired Potpourri basket that I wanted to take home, but could not reason to pay the price tag of $65.00 Ouch!  When I got home I looked at the bird cage I had in my craft room and thought it would make a great potpourri holder.  I spray painted it silver and bought the potpourri from Kirkland’s (another great store).  I spent a total of 16.00 dollars now that’s a price tag I can work with!

Sweet Cupcake Magnet

I made this cupcake free-hand and added colored beads for sprinkles and inked the edges with a light brown color.  After I made it I wasn’t quite sure what do with it, so I thought I would make it into another refrigerator magnet!

Old to New- Turquoise and Black Chair

My father gave me these old chairs, they were left over furniture from an estate sale and he knew that I  could do something with them, very smart man my father!  I instantly fell in love with these chairs they had great bones.  First I cleaned them and sanded them down a bit then I removed the old fabric and padding and placed new fabric and padding.  My only regret is that I didn’t take a before picture; however, I’m very happy with the outcome.  These lovely chairs look fabulous in my craft room!

Bird Tray

I bought this serving tray on clearance at Joann’s for about 10.00 the only problem with it, is that it was ugly.  No worries, I can always paint it so i decided to paint the tray white.  Next, I stenciled the picture of the bird by using the Cricut Cartridge (Heritage).  I recently discovered silver leaf and liquid leaf, very fun can’t wait to see what other crafts I can use it on.  I used silver liquid leaf to paint the bird.

Valentines Day

I was browsing through old pictures and I found this picture of me and my husband and I adore how it captured one of the many silly moments of our marriage.  Immediately the words "My silly Valentine" came to my mind and I decided to leave the letters crooked to match the theme I was looking for.  The bird you see is made out of felt and I added a few Valentine's embellishments to complete the page.

Follow Your Bliss

I love inspirational words and quotes, it reminds me not to give up on my hopes and dreams.  My favorites are Follow your Dreams, Believe, Faith and Follow your Heart. What are yours?
I used a butterfly punch and folded it in half to make a 3-D effect if you will.  For the letters I used the Cricut Cartridge (Plantin SchoolBook) and added silver glittery birds as embellishments followed with some bling to the butterflies.
